Bulk Change of Address Service Extended to 31 December 2021

Following Brexit and the automatic creation of comparable trademark rights and re-registered designs in the UK, the UKIPO introduced a temporary service to proces high volume change of representative address requests.

The service is applicable to comparable trade marks and re-registered designs based upon European direct filed registrations. A bulk update service can be used to update a minimum of 50 cases simultaneously, when changing some, or all, of the comparable trade marks or re-registered designs held by a current EEA address for service.

All comparable trade marks and re-registered designs created on Brexit featured the representative name and address recorded at the EUIPO upon creation.  Whilst an existing EEA address can remain on the register for these newly created rights for three years, many owners and representatives are updating the UK records now to replace the EEA address for service with a UK address for service. If you have more than 50 comparable trade marks or more than 50 re-registered designs that require updating, the bulk update service can be a more efficient way of acheiving this.

This service is currently set to end on 31 December 2021.  If you would like to update your records using the builk update service, please contact us as soon as possible to discuss requirements and costs.
