UKIPO and EPO Fee Increases Effective 1 April 2026

The UKIPO have announced that the majority of their fees will increase by, on average, 25% from 1 April 2026.

 

In addition, the European Patent Office have announced the annual increase of a number of their fees, including the search, designation, examination, excess claims and grant fees as well as the renewal fees.

 

Many of these fees can be paid early, so if you have upcoming fees due on your UK or European IP portfolios and would like to benefit from the current lower fees, or you would like us to review your cases to determine whether or not you could benefit from earlier payment, please contact us by 16 March 2026, if possible.
