Patent Attorney and Trade Mark Attorney

I am a fully qualified UK and European Patent Attorney with over 17 years experience post qualified.

I have a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Exeter.  During my years as a patent attorney, I have gained experience in a broad range of technological areas including mechanics, electronics, software, and computer implemented inventions.  In particular, I have experience with Internet of Things inventions, piezoelectric elements, 3D printers, traffic monitoring systems using mobile phone cell location, touch sensitive screens, ink jet printers, medical devices and robotic hands.

I have extensive patent prosecution experience dealing with the protection of inventions from drafting patent applications, through worldwide prosecution and eventual grant.  I have also experience dealing with opposition procedures in the European Patent Office.

Looking to expand my practice areas, I started training to become a UK Trade Mark attorney at the beginning of 2021. I was awarded my Professional Certificate in Trade Mark Practice in 2022 from Nottingham Law School and became fully qualified at the beginning of 2023.   I have experience in trade mark searching, preparing and filing trade mark applications, filing and defending trade mark oppositions, and trade mark monitoring and enforcement.  I also have experience preparing cease and desist letters and preparing co-existences agreements.

Additionally, I have experience in preparing and filing Registered Design applications.
